I wrote this poem because people don't realize the power that words possess and how the tone of them when used together can make a mess if you're not careful.
Say what you mean and mean what you say
But be careful what you say to me
Because from the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks
So if you don't really want me to know what's in there
I suggest you you keep minimal speech
I probably wont be understanding
if you use the wrong words
I may in fact misunderstand everything you say
Because I'm not focusing on the words
I'm too busy focused on the tone i just heard.
A lot of the time people don't realize
It's not what you say it's how you say it
So to get the response you want
Calm down, think about it, play with it
Until you find the words you really want to use
Keep your mouth shut until you're really ready to say it
Being unaware of the power words possess you see
Gives the excuse that one can't help but to use them as a child would
Carelessly, recklessly, unintentionally.
No one can live life like that
Because there are consequences
Good and bad that can really set you back
Don't underestimate what it means to verbalize freely
They made it a law
As if they can take it away like a child's pair of heely's.
So use it but use it wisely
because the words you use
By many, they won't be taken lightly
